DEB HAS BREAST CANCER
This body of work was a discrete project that documented a friend’s struggle with cancer. It was Deb’s call, asking “how would you like to photograph me without my hair” that initiated our collaboration. The striking image I saw in the viewfinder was potent, and I knew a project existed which would not only result in photographs, but would also allow me to support a friend through a difficult time. In addition to silver prints, cyanotypes helped convey the delicate and complex nature of the experience Deb was undergoing. Years out, Deb is cancer free.
